Our First Anniversary!

Today is our first wedding anniversary. Traditionally the gift to give this year is paper, easy... I made him a very sentimental (and Camoflage) card... the modern gift is a clock - what? Um... I will see what I can find but i'm heading to Sears for some tools, that's the way to my husbands heart! =)

This has been the best year of my life. Marrying Brandon and becoming a mom to Cash James - what more could a girl ask for?

Thank you Brandon for being an amazing husband, friend, father & provider. You have made all my dreams come true by making me a wife and a mother. I love you with all my heart!! Here's to years and years and years of memories & love!!!

My Little Aquarius....

Your Aquarian child will show remarkable alertness as an infant and toddler. The attribute common to most Aquarians is a love of learning. Their astonishing ability to grasp concepts will put your child ahead of peers in the early years. You are likely to hear "oh, what a bright child!" time and again. However, there is a tendency to overlook details and skip the mundane aspects of learning. Eventually, you will need to help your child slow down and complete the necessary steps in order to shine consistently and with deep inner satisfaction.

Reading is a great way to build the relationship you want to have with an Aquarian child. There is all the imaginative fun of reading, wherein your child can experience the delight of fantasy, which Aquarius is particularly able to focus on. There is also the practical matter of understanding each word as it appears in a sentence, which requires patience and persistence. If you are there to help your child learn to read, your role as a disciplinarian will be better accepted in later years.

Aquarian children are naturally popular with others because they are such good and loyal friends. They may display an ability to mediate other children's disagreements and thus gain a reputation for being intelligent and fair. A feeling of superiority may overcome your little Aquarius when faced with peers who are not as gifted in the social arena. Help them develop the personal boundaries to be able to move on with their own ideas and projects without criticizing or patronizing peers who can't keep up!

You are blessed with a freedom-loving child. Give your Aquarians the independence they naturally crave and you are likely to find them coming to you for reassurance and affection. Limit their freedom and they will find ways to escape the confines of your affections to get the space this Air sign needs to feel well and succeed.

(thanks for sending this Aunt Jo!)

Too busy to blog....

I want to apologize for not blogging lately... I think the rule to owning a blog is that you must blog every few days to keep every one apprised - I’ve been busy (um, or Lazy!) I'm just going to run down the highlights then post photos and video since that is really what everyone wants to see!! :)

1. Cash James just turned 3 months old and he's wearing 6 month clothing already, my arms and legs are sore from carrying him! big big boy! He was almost 13 lbs at his 2 month check up - I’m guessing his 4 month check up he will be 16+ ... we'll see....

2. We went to AZ for mother's day weekend. Cash LOVED the pool and did VERY well on the air plane!! (see pics and video!)

3. We just booked our trip to Iowa to visit Brandon's grand parents/mom/aunts et al... We are looking forward to it!!

4. Cash has been a drool bug for the past few weeks, I can feel a bump on his lower left gum...I'm SO not excited for him to cut teeth! He's already an "aggressive" eater and teething will totally mess up my beauty sleep!! I will keep you posted! The way he's drooling he may have ALL his teeth coming in at once! haha

5. Cash is SO much fun! He is always laughing and smiling! I truly am blessed to have such a great baby!

Spaghetti Westerns - The Good, The Bad and the "DROOLY"

Cash James 2 days shy of 12 weeks and mama.

The past few Sundays I have been blessed with "Spaghetti westerns" on tv... for those of you that don't know what that is don't fret... I just learned myself. Brandon just recently "schooled" me on westerns and a "Spaghetti Western" is a film that is shot in Italy. (thus the pasta reference) If you look closely you will notice that many of the characters are actually speaking Italian and then dubbed over in English. Although the "american" actors are speaking english and thus don't need to be dubbed over. This seemed so silly to me but Brandon explained it was a lot more cost effective to do this... but i'm guessing it must have been hard for the Amercian actors to shoot a film where half the cast is speaking Italian... Makes me appreciate Clint Eastwood THAT much more!! Many westerns have Mexican or Indian characters in the plot but these "tan" characters are actually Italians... I would have never known... but now I do. The reason I actually CARE is because Brandon has found them on TV the past few Sundays and while he and Cash sit on the couch and watch, mama gets to go back to sleep! So thank God for Spaghetti westerns!

The Good, The Bad and the DROOLY....

Cash James is 12 weeks tomorrow. I cannot believe how fast the past three months have gone by. He has changed SO much and is SO big! We have good days and we have bad days.. but EVERY DAY is a DROOLY day! The boy drools like a faucet! I'm not a big fan of "bibs" but have been using them lately to save his onesies... if he's not spitting up he's drooling... i've just gotten use to having a WET baby (both ends that is!) My favorite is when I strap him into the moby and he pukes down my cleavage... GOOD TIMES! =)

All in all we have SO much fun together. Lately he hasn't been sleeping as well, i'm guessing he's going through a growth spurt since I just picked up a packet of onesies in size 6-9 months and they FIT! He is such a big boy! Anyone know a good chiropractor? =)

Thursday we are leaving for AZ to spend my first mother's day with my mom (it's also her birthday!) We are both SO excited to get some sun and REST while grandma takes care of Cash! Let's just hope the flight goes well!
