Fall is here!

I know, I know, I know... it's been a while.... we STILL do not have internet (or TV!) We really are taking this whole FARM thing seriously! We DO plan on getting internet soon; once we do I promise to blog often!!

We have a lot of exciting things going on around the Jackson Homestead! Cash got a battery powered tractor and he LOVES "tilling the land" and helping us move the fire wood and clean up the barns!

(unfortunatley it's "in the shop" right now, hopefully DaDa will get it up and running again soon!)

We decided to upgrade to a powered tractor since he just seems to get into trouble with his foot powered one!

We have been working hard to get the land cut back. Brandon's dad was kind enough to bring over his riding lawn tractor & brush hog and helped us cut back the front acre and part of the back; but there is still A LOT of work to do!! ((IF anyone wins the lotto soon we'd love a riding lawn mower/tractor of our own! haha!)

Cash loved watching G'pa Kile & Dada cut down the brush but he didn't want to get too close... he prefers the roar of his battery powered engine so he stayed close to Mama!

We celebrated Buzz's 30th birthday in September (FINALLY! He needs to catch up to me!) we had a few of his oldest & dearest friends over and had a great time! We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!

I have been watching my friends kids a few days a week. Cash loves hanging out with them and they are such sweet little kidlets. Giana is almost 11 months, Sophie just turned 3 and Sammy is 4 1/2. Sammy will be starting pre-school soon but he's been hanging with us until then.

We adopted a barn cat from our friends daughter. I guess "Pogo" was getting into some trouble around her dads harley so they decided to put her out to pasture at our house! WE LOVE HER! She brought me a big fat mouse the first day! She is very friendly but not needy and tolerant of the dogs. She even lets Cash pet her. She is a welcome addition and probably the first of many misfit animals we'll add to our growing 'herd' LOL

We are currently researching raising laying hens. We were going to get pygmy goats but the herd I wanted to buy from sold out so we need to wait until next spring. So until then i'm going to get a few "girls" to spend some time with.. i'm looking forward to fresh eggs for all the holiday baking i have planned! Brandon is going to make me a custom coop. I can't wait to decorate it and post pics!! Stay tuned....

All in all we are in love with our new home and doing our best to get it in shape. It's def going to take time, money and LOTS of sweat, blood and tears but it's HOME and we love it!

I will get some pics up soon of new paint/decor etc...

We are looking forward to the upcoming fall festivities in our new little town so keep on the look out for punkin patch pics as well!!

Much Love,
The Jackson Family
