Lima Bean

I had my 9 week appt today. I'm happy to report that there is only ONE baby in there... twins don't run in either of our families but I have been SO sick I just had a feeling... phew!

I also had my first ultra sound and well... I don't know if the baby is a girl or a boy yet but it sure does look like a lima bean :) I'm ok with that, as long as it's a healthy lima bean!

I have a few photos but no scanner, i'm hoping to smooze a friend soon so I can share the cutest lima bean pics you will ever see! ((stay tuned))

Tomorrow I am taking Cash James to get his Christmas photos taken, and hopefully get our Christmas cards sent out ASAP with said photos. (Let's pray for at least one smiley pic, you never know with him these days!) I got him the cutest little shirt/tie/vest set and found a matching Nordic-ish sweater.. AH- DORABLE!!

I need to also scope out some Santas... that will definatley be a crying pic... although he is almost old enough to bribe... so we'll see!

Sleepy bear...

Cash had so much fun playing with his friends today that he fell asleep in his chair watching Shaun the Sheep. Of course before I helped him into a cozy position I had to get some video...

And finally a pic from last weekend w/Mama. We went to the Hendry's annual Christmas party at the VFW. Cash had a blast running around with Ian, Emma & Ellie. He even let the girls walk on him... literally... it was hilarious! ( I will try to get some pics from Jen's camera!)

And baby makes four....

Brandon,Cash James and I are proud to announce that WE ARE EXPECTING BABY #2!!!! Many of you already know as we aren't very good at keeping secrets.. but we did want to wait until I was a bit further along before going TOTALLY public!

We are OVER THE MOON excited! Cash James is ESPECIALLY ecstatic about the news as you can see in this pic. (taken the day we found out)






Here's how it all went down...

We knew we wanted to get pregnant this fall so we'd have the baby in the summer when my mom would be here to help and Cash would be about 2 1/2 which seems like a good age difference. So I made an appt at my docs office to have my birth control removed on October 5th. We weren't sure how long it would "take" but we were blessed with Cash very quickly and were hoping for the same this time around.

Sure enough the end of October I was having really bad heartburn so I took a test on a whim on November 2nd. Not thinking anything of it, I hadn't even missed a period yet but the dollar store pregnancy tests I bought are well... a dollar... so why not! Sure enough THERE IT WAS... a very very light pink 2nd line. I immediatley called my good friend Jen, surely since the test was only a dollar it was wrong. She answered knowing something was up as I NEVER call, i'm a texter. Next she proceeded to send me a pic of her positive dollar store test from her son Ray, she said her's was exactly the same... BARELY there, but THERE! I took another test while waiting for her picture text to come through. Sure enough, 2nd test turned out VERY light pink again but definatley two lines. I was frantically trying to find a room in the house with good natural light to compare my test to Jen's photo text test. They were identical!

So now I am PRETTY sure i'm pregnant, but again... the dollar store test, being it was only a dollar made me think it was a fluke. So I packed Cash into the car and we headed to Rite Aid to buy an overpriced test to confirm. Yep. Pregnant. OK.... next step, telling Brandon!







I wanted Cash to be part of sharing the news so I went to four stores looking for a "Big Brother" t-shirt. You know, the ones you see EVERYWHERE except for the one day you need one and you only have an hour to beat your husband home! I finally found one (again, see happy pic of Cash above! lol) and ran home, put the Tee on Cash, the plan was to see how long it took Dada to see it and figure it out.

I am a horrible lier... in fact i'm such a bad lier that even not sharing information is lying to me and i couldn't look Brandon in the eyes when he got home. I knew he'd know something was up, so I sat on the couch, shaking ( more out of excitement, I knew he'd be happy since we were "trying") and attempting to knit although I probably only got one row done in the 10 mins I was sitting there waiting for him.

He walks in... business as usual, Hi babe. Hi Billie. Hi Jack Jack. Hi Cash. NOTHING.... minutes seemed like hours... I just kept looking down at my knitting. Finally he says to Cash:

"Oh buddy, are you going to be a brother someday". (As in "eventually"). I just laughed... REALLY??? Is my hubby that dense? Once he saw my face...

"WAIT!? ARE YOU PREGNANT??" DUH!

I started to cry and laugh and he picked up Cash and strutted around proud as a peacock since it only took 3 weeks of "trying". LOL








So there it is. That was November 2nd. I was almost 5 weeks and here I am almost 9 weeks. I had my first appt Tuesday and next week will be our first ultra sound. The past few weeks have been pure hell. I have been SO SO SO SO sick! I got a bit nauseous with Cash but this was debilitating. I'm thinking twins or a girl... I guess we'll see soon enough.

I am due July 14th. I'm guessing we'll find out the sex in February sometime. We are both hoping for another boy (then a girl a few years down the road) but I know we'll be tickled pink to have a little baby girl this time around too!

Long Lazy weekends

Happy Belated Thanksgiving! We enjoyed the long holiday weekend... err.... week, thanks to the snow! I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am so very thankful for my family & friends, and for our health!!

We've had a fun week playing in the snow (ok, not really... it was really really cold and Cash wasn't a fan, thus the lack of pics...) we enjoyed Turkey day at the jackson's and then we went to the tree farm with our good friends John & Tasha and got a tree! I Love Christmas and i'm glad Cash James was equally excited about decorating, he mostly loved the working train that Papa gave him to go around the tree!!

Cash's Christmas List

Happy Holidays! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week!?! So fun! I love the holidays! I'm very excited to decorate our new house as well (pics to come)and start listening to Christmas music & baking!!

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! you know!

Anywhoo.... i've had some christmas list requests for Cash James so I figured i'd post it here for all to review.

Cash is ALL BOY so anything trucks/tractors/trains etc.. will always go over well.

I really like Books, puzzles & learning toys!

Lately he has been obsessed with trains (Thomas & friends to be exact)




My lovely & generous friend Jenelle gave Cash a bag of Thomas engines & tracks her son Kellen has outgrown. Cash is over the moon happy about this! So anything Thomas to go with his growing set would be appreciated. He has wooden tracks & trains that fit the wooden tracks.




He doesn't seem to be that into "stuffed" toys/bears/animals etc..

His room is a Tractor/John Deere theme and he is still obsessed with Tractors... so that's always a safe bet :)

Cash doesn't have many DVD's. We don't have cable so any tv he does watch is on DVD or the computer... Disney movies would be good because then Dada & Mama can watch along without being bored! He currently has the movie "CARS" which we've seen 100,000,000 times! Classic disney would be fun, movies from our childhood... sleeping beauty, snow white & the 7 dwarfs etc...

On another note when he finds a dvd/show he likes he wants to play with toys from that show... Once we bought the Movie Cars we then were tracking down Mater & Lightening McQueen toys.

Clothing wise he is wearing about 18-24 months in tops ( some smaller 2t's as well) and pants are about 2t. Bigger is safest. He's tall but skinny. He is good on coats for this season. He loves boots of all kinds, he is currently in a size 6 in shoes but has a few pairs so please buy 7+.

He still wears hats of all kinds daily and has a tendency to lose socks! I'm thinking santa may put some in his stocking!

I have no problem with 2nd hand dvds/books/toys. I buy most of Cash's clothes & toys 2nd hand. Everyting is so expensive these days so if you come upon a great deal at a garage sale or used store, more power to ya! We appreciate it just as much!

I hope this is helpful. I'm excited to see Cash's eyes light up when he wakes up Christmas Morning to see Santa has come... i've been waiting a long time for this! Now if only i can find my phone/video charger....

Big boy bedding from Meme!

A package came in the mail the other day for Cash James. He loves getting packages... especially ones from Meme Rhonda in Texas! We always know a gift from Meme means it's probably homemade, one of a kind and full of LOVE!

Sure enough....


Meme made Cash a one-of-a-kind John Deere tractor quilt & matching pillow for his toddler bed! He LOVES it!


For now his mattress & thus new bedding is on our bedroom floor. We are in the process of transitioning from co-sleeping to his big boy bed. I think it's been harder on Mama than on Cash =)

He loves getting under the covers and having Dada read him books; especially TRACTOR books! Oh and of course he loves to jump on his tractor bed!
